From the Kilns of Denmark: Contemporary Danish Ceramics
Rare. From the Kilns of Denmark: Contemporary Danish Ceramics is an informative companion text to a similarly titled 2002 exhibition that travelled to the American Craft Museum, NY; Fitchburg Art Museum, MA; Mingei International Museum, CA; and the Racine Art Museum. The works in this traveling show have been displayed throughout the United States and Europe.
Over thirty important contemporary ceramic artists are featured—including Beate Andersen, Aage Birck, Michael Geertsen, Bente Hansen and Bodil Manz—who are represented by beautiful full-color illustrations and individual biographies. Authors Wendy Tarlow and Hope Barkan Kaplan provide essays on the development of ceramics as an art form as well as perspectives on Danish studio ceramics.
